Meet the Model - Lydia (Lily) Carlson
Not all of us can be born with a genetically blessed exterior but every one of us can develop ourselves to be a beautiful human being. If I meet a girl or woman who outwardly appears ‘beautiful’ and they are not the full package their beauty wanes considerably in my perception. Therefore I always like to work with models who embody this, and are just NICE! The latest face of Jane Ramsay is Lydia (Lily) Carlson who is the embodiment of a gorgeous girl inside and out. As she was born in the Year of the Dog this is her year, so I look forward to seeing where life takes her and cheering her on! Here I ask her 10 questions.

1. Your name is Lydia but you go by Lily - how did this come about?
I love nicknames, I tend to give everyone I meet nicknames (maybe because I’m terrible with remembering names). When I started to travel I found it easier for people to both remember and pronounce Lily instead of Lydia so I stuck with it.

2. You are from Sweden but living In Hong Kong. How did you come to be here?
I have to say I was a bit sceptical when my agency first suggested Hong Kong, I was after all choosing between a well known agency in Milan and an agency I’ve never heard of in Hong Kong. However, I love to travel and saw it as a great opportunity to see more of Asia.

3. What are your 3 favourite things about Hong Kong?
Hong Kong has everything! Beautiful hikes, amazing beaches, great food from all over the world and a great city vibe in general!

4. What are 3 things you tell anyone who visits you here that they must do?
If you have one day in Hong Kong I would suggest you to do a hike in the morning. I love being out in the nature and it’s so different from the Swedish nature.
Then head up to Victoria peak and watch the sunset. One of my favorites spots is up there, I found it by accident 4 years ago when I first visited HK. It is an unmarked path that leads you to the most amazing view point - best of all is that barely anyone knows about it!
Then in the evening you definitely want to experience the city vibe, but skip LKF (Lan Kwai Fong - HK’s popular night life precinct) and go to a cool rooftop bar that overlooks the city (there are so many!).

5. You certainly seem like a natural model but is being a model what you envisioned yourself becoming?
When I was little I used to dress up in my mom's dresses and do fashion shows in our living room. I certainly feel like I’m living my dream right now. Although, modeling is temporary and I’m just making sure I’m enjoying every minute of it!

6. Describe your personal style?
I love fashion but I don’t really follow trends. I mostly wear skinny black jeans, black or white shirt and sneakers/heels. I get inspired by people on the streets and love when people dress colorful, but right now I’m in a black-on-black period, haha.

7. What is your favourite Jane Ramsay item/s?
I have so many! I probably wear my Sarah silk shirt and my Rebecca long sleeve tops the most. I also love my Aurora silk top, the back is just so pretty!

8. What is the best place  you have traveled to so far?
All places have their charm, it’s impossible to only pick one! Australia is one of my favorites. I have so many great memories from there. I also love Azores - a paradise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! Azores was like nothing I ever seen before and I got to experience it from the back of a horse! Have you ever galloped around lakes inside of a volcano? It’s one of the coolest thing I’ve ever done!

9. What do you miss about Sweden?
My horses and my dog! And my dads food.

10. Where will we find Lily in 5 years?
I want my life to be an adventure and I want to explore at least two new countries every year. Also I’m starting my own little model management company that I hope will do well. Hopefully, I can combine my passion for traveling and my business. My bucket list is loooong and I have a lot of things I want to achieve within the next five years, I guess you will have to ask me five years from now and we will see where in the world I am.
